Planting a linden tree
We planted a linden tree in our school yard. Some students stood in a circle and said the word linden in several languages like: Italian, Swedish…
Trees are very important for our world because they give us paper and most importantly oxygen.
I don’t know much about trees but i played a roll in the circle. I said the word linden in Italian language. The moment we were all waiting for lasted for about 15 minutes. When it was over we were all happy to be part of this.

Baking wholewheat cookies
There are lots of activities going on and one of them is baking cookies. There are few students that are baking some wholewheat cookies. I went to interwiev them. They were already mixing ingredients so I asked the students, what is in the mixture. They said there is some whole wheat flour, two eggs, butter and some sugar. They told me that they will make balls as big as a nut out of that mixture and then they will make a little hole in the balls and decorate them. They invited me to try those coookies. And I am already getting excited about it.

Water rocket
In the maths classroom some students decided to do a rocket on water drive. They used a plastic bottle for framework, then they used pasteboard for wings and they scured it with a spire to the end of the plastic botle and ther rocket was finished. They vill use the airpump and water to fire the rocket.

Animals and us
6th graders learn about animals. First they listened about them and how are they living. They looked for some pictures and ideas how to make the animal. They collected some old paper, plastic glasses and other different stuff. They were so exicted. They started to making animals. It was fantastic! They really have many ideas. We saw giraffes, dogs, cats and more. I think they were proud and happy.
Making tea
Tea is healthy for us. In one of the classrooms students made herbal tea. We found out how they made their tea. First you must sink plants in boiling water and wait for 5 minutes. Then tea is finished and we can drink it. They made different sorts of tea: black tea, chinese tea, linden tea, etc. We mostly liked Chinese tea, because it's special.

Making Paper And Cards
In one of the classrooms students are making cards from old paper and we are going to describe it.
First they cut the old paper into small pieces and they put them in a glass. Then they add some water and squeeze the paper. After that, they mix the paper with a mixer and then they pour mixture on the foil. Later, they model the mixture to paper cards. When they are done, they wait till the cards are dry. That's how paper and cards are made.

ECO day programme
We gathered at school at 8 o'clock in the assembly hall. There was a missionary Matija who works in Madagascar. He told us many interesting things about life there. We found out that people in Madagascar have a very hard life and most of the time they are very hungry and they aren't rich. They grow their own coffee and the most typical food in Madagascar is rice. Every year there is a big cyclone in Madagascar. So they don't have any bridges. People don't like bathing in rivers because there are many crocodiles in it. They wash their clothes with their own hands. The people of Madagascar usually have just two different pairs of clothes.
We were very shocked when we found out that they are very often ill. When he ended with his exciting story we went back to school and joined different activities.
We will end our eco day with a small eco performance. Our choir will sing a song and the president of our pupil community will plant a Slovene national tree – linden. We will sign an eco document and we will become an eco school.
This will be an important day for our school. We are very happy because we are part of this event.

Eco channel workshop
We want to spread the word about our special day: ECO day.
We write blog posts about it, make videos, photo stories...etc. So our friends in Sweden, Romania and other countries can learn about some activities at our school.
